Emily Steele Jackson was born and raised in the United States, but has spent most of her adult years in other countries, primarily China. Her experiences overseas led to her writing the popular and humorous expat blog, Small Town Laowai. She is a regular contributor at Taking Route, and her writing has also appeared in ChinaSource, Velvet Ashes, The Beijinger, and Courrier International.
Her first novel, HOME, JAMES is the story of a thirteen-year-old whose family is moving back to the U.S. after many years of living in China, and is available on Amazon. Emily enjoys traveling, gardening, and hiking. She lives with her husband, two kids, and Siberian husky in Tucson, Arizona.
